I don't know if this is a Win XP issue or if this is a Dell issue. I've
sent this to both a Win XP newsgroup and a Dell newsgroup.
I bought an Inpiron 8100 (laptop) from dell with XP pro
on it. We set up 4 or 5 profiles on it (mom, dad, and
kids). On my profile only (I think it is just mine),
there is some sort of bug in the Windows default sounds.
It seams like I get a chime.wave after almose every
keystroke (ie: in Excel when ever I change to a different
cell or enter new info into the cell, and other similar
operations in all other programs). I've disabled all of
the default Windows event sounds and I don't hear it
anymore. But then I don't hear any Windows sounds.
Other programs event sounds are still enabled and work
fine. It is somewhere in the Windows event sounds. Has
anyone ever encountered this problem? Does anyone know
how to fix it (w/o disabling all of Windows event sounds)?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide,
