If you're going to keep the drive you certainly need good backups. The
drive is on the way out.

If it's a Seagate, you may be in luck, if your HD was after they upped
the warranty period to 5 years. Then again, if it's a Brand Name PC,
then the brand's "value add" may have botched this warranty cover.
