9800 pro pre-boot message?

My previous card was a Geforce 2 Ultra 64mb.
When the machine booted up the first thing displayed on screen before the
mboard BIOS started was the card details, i.e. "Geforce 2 Ultra 64Mb", then
the motherboard BIOS starts and off you go.

Recently got a new Powercolor 9800 pro 128Mb card and don't see any similar
confirmation of this card on screen before the normal mboard BIOS starts -
even on a restart when the monitor is warmed up.

Mboard is an ASUS a7n8x deluxe.

Is this normal for a 9800 pro ?

Card seemed to install and work fine - recognised by Windows 98 se and
correctly identified in Device Mangler and in the display settings screen.

Any observations welcome.

Thanks

Steve.

Don't recall ever seeing the BIOS of my card except when I powered up
without the molex connector connected, if you've ever tried assembling a
completely new system from scratch and having one of the loudest recurring
beeps appear you'll understand why I nearly had to change my underwear. :p

Don't worry about it, it's probably normal.

Both my 9500 pro as my new 9800 pro never game me that message... well
neither do I mind about it!

Lets put it this way... what is said wasn't importantant anyway - and
usually by the time a monitor syncs up - you're already booting into
Windows.

Yeah... I'd rather have 2-3 more seconds of boot time ;)

If ya ever want to check what kind of info is about your card,
download and use aida32 - its free from www.aida32.hu - download the
Entrprise version.

This will tell you EVERYTHING about your system.... I mean EVERYTHING.
EVen how big your motherboard is. (in mm)
