I find for eggs and bacon it's best to run Halo for about five minutes, or if you prefer, Generals will cook them in about seven minutes.

Is there a thermal diode in the GPU or on its socket? If you can't answer those questions, then how would you use any data that could be provided? Ken P.S. : My watercooled 9700pro's fan speed is zero and its "normal" temp. is ~33C.

A Athura Oct 5, 2003 #5 My card has onboard hardware monitoring, and its temp is in the 65-80deg c range, the fan speed is 3000rpm. to me, this seems a little hot

How do you access this onboard monitoring? What program displays the info? Is it in some tweaking SW? Ken

A Athura Oct 5, 2003 #7 Its a Tyan Tachyon 9700pro with hardware monitoring card and I use their TGM software to access the information from the onboard winbond chip. I'm just concerned as the temp seems very high to me. Games are running ok though. But their software says the fan speed is too low @ 3000rpm

Try the forums at www.rage3d.com, you might find a few fellow Tyan owners there. I don't know of any other cards that use that monitoring system.
