Greetings! My son is looking at buying one or the other. Does anyone know
the difference and is it worth the price differential?

I have tried to find a webstie with benchmarks to compare the two, but
cannot. Thanks if you can help!

Greetings! My son is looking at buying one or the other. Does anyone know

I just bought a 9700Pro as in lots of benchmarks the difference is
only about 10% performance increase in the 9800 and certainly isn't
worth the extra to me.

A 2 second search on google for "9800 review" found me some.

I can get a 9800 non pro for less than I can get the 9700 pro. Do you know
whether the 9800 non=pro is more or less powerful?

Thanks.

PS I've found all this stuff - I'm looking for info on the 9800 NON-PRO as
opposed to the 9700 pro. Surely there's GOt to be something out there!

The only difference between the 9800 and the 9800 Pro is in the memory
type and the clock speeds. All 9800 Pros use Samsung 2.8ns memory.
The non-pros use either the Samsung memory or Infineon 3.0ns or 3.3ns
memory. There's really no way of telling what card uses what memory
without opening the box and looking at the card.

The clock speeds for the non-pro are 325(core)/290(memory), as opposed
to 380(core)/340(memory) for the Pro.

Those are the only differences. The rest of the card is exactly the
same, and the drivers from ATI (any version) will work with either
card.

Thank YOU!!!

BTW - do you have any knowledge about the performance difference between the
two (9800pro and 9800 ono pro)? And do you have any idea what the
performance difference is between the 9800 non pro and the 9700 pro?

Thanks again!
