97 to 2000 Conversion Problems

I have a several large Access97 apps that I'm converting to 2000. One 97
app has Access security set up, and in that security, I have all
permissions, under Admin and my user name.
This is the only 97 app that won't convert. I get a "you don't have
permission to convert this database" message.

I will admit that though I have a lot of experience in building Access
applications, setting up the security system, maintaining it, and how it
relates to the .mdb and the .mdw files has always been a mystery to me.
I've read the MS Security FAQ document many times, without real success.
What I need is an "Access Security for Dummies" resource to... once and for
all, nail this subject down.

Can anyone suggest any resources (books, web sites, etc...) to study that
will help me understand the Access Security system?

Can someone offer a bit of basic info as to what procedures I can use to
properly convert that db?

If I import all the 97 Front End objects into 2000 (that works), what is the
difference between that and actually "converting?"

As always, thanks for any help...

Addendum...
I went back to the SecFAQ. It suggested removing security from the old
97 app, and then converting it to 2000.
That sounds like a good fix. I'll run that by the client...
If anyone can offer additional comments that might be helpful, I'd
appreciate it.
Thanks,
Al Camp
