9600XT to 850XT??

Is this a worth while upgrade?
I ask because the 9600 in not listed on Quake4......

Wow, that much faster... I wont even need to upgrade my P3 cpu then...

I bought a x850 pro yesterday to test drive it with just such a game,
upgrading from a 9600pro. I can now run q4 at 1600 with everything turned up
(except shadows..i have them turned off but i do that on all my games and
havent really tested shadows).
 
I went from a 9800 pro 128 memory to a 850XT 256 and I saw a BIG jump but I
also upped my processor a bit.
 
That is beginning to be the debate.. Running a 2.4 P4 w/1gig ram. I do like
the ASUS mb I have as it's always been stable and easy to tweak. But
looking at the newer boards is starting to make my fingers itch...
