8500 AIW & Win98

Anyone know if these two are compatible? I called ATI and they said yes so
I bought the card but can not get it to show the desktop correctly, it is
totally scrambled. It is all messed up. Have to remove 8500 card and
reinstall my old PCI card then desktop works. Tried 3 times but no good.

It works with Win98 Second Edition but not with First Edition.

Win98SE is actually far more different from 1st Edition internally than
is generally understood. In particular, 2nd Ed supports WDM drivers,
1st Edition does not. The 8500 AIW drivers are WDM drivers.

There is no downloadable upgrade from 1st edition to 2nd edition. It's
a whole new OS, and you have to get a 2nd Ed. CD.
