Our Windows 2000 machines running on motherboards with the
Intel 82801EB chipset are showing plugplaymanager errors
in the application log during the boot process. This
causes a slight but noticeable delay in the boot process
before the user can logon. The error only occurs on
machines with one CD-ROM and can be "fixed" by setting
device 1 on the second IDE channel to None instead of Auto
Detection. The problem is going to each machine to change
the setting is not feasible. Does anyone know if the
hotfix discussed in KB article 841382 fixes the
plugplaymanager errors as well?

I am not referring to a BIOS settings and none is not the
desired setting for any IDE device that is present. The
machine is not having a problem identifying present or
missing IDE devices during boot. On the other hand,
Windows 2000 with the 835732 patch is having a problem.
Can someone from Microsoft reply to this question?
