802.1x EAP-TLS & machine/user cert

Dear NG,

Is it possible, on wired networks, to have the following behavior ?
- workstation boots up --> EAP challenge based on machine certificate
- user logs on --> another EAP challenge based on user certificate

What I'm seeing right now is that after workstation has been challenged for
a machine certificate, the user logs on but is not challenged for a user
certificate ...
If this is possible, please let me know how ... ;-)

Here is one way, I am not familiar how to manually trigger a
authentication attempt

Set your switch to have a reauthentication period enabled.. If noon
is logged on to the machine, authentication will process as th
machine. If the switch triggers reauthentication and the user i
logged in then it will authenticate w/ user credentials
