On WinXP, 802.1X-based authentication is supported on both
wireless connections and ordinary wired ethernet
connections (providing the Ethernet switch supports it, of
course).
Where do I configure the 802.1X-settings for a wired
connection?
(The settings for a wireless connection appears under its
properties, as expected)
Thanks,
David

You need to have a wired Ethernet adapter. If you only have a wireless
Ethernet adapter, you can not set up 801.1x settings for wired connections.

Hi,
I do have a wired Ethernet adapter (but not a wireless
adapter). I just cannot locate the 802.1X-settings on its
properties.

I don't think (for what *that's* worth!) that any consumer-grade routers
have authentication servers. 802.11x authentication is typically done
at a LAN server level and is controlled in the server security setup.
For home/SOHO use without an authenticating server, authentication
should be disabled.

.
This is an enterprice environment, with a RADIUS server
supporting 802.1X, and a switch also supporting 802.1X.

XP with LAN card<-->Ethernet switch <--> RADIUS serv.
