7b error help needed

My laptop computer died so I bought another used one a
Toshiba portege 3110ct. I have taken my hard drive out
which is installed with xp pro and put it in my new
laptop but when it boots it comes up with error
0x0000007b and stops on the blue screen. I have been told
it does not recognise the ide hard drive. How do I get
over this problem?
