64bit DVD?

I've just built this computer and loaded 32bit Vista on it. It works fine as
is. I bought Vista Home Premium 64 bit DVD from Microsoft, but am having
trouble loading it. The DVD is not seen in the DVD drive at boot-up and when
I try to load the program once I'm running the 32bit version, I get a message
that says the disc is not compatable with my operating system.

ASUS M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition
AMD Athlon 64 X@ 6400+
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640 MB
Corsair DDR2 800 2X1GB RAM

What do I need to do? Thanks.

Hi Gary,

Change the BIOS boot order so that the optical drive is first. You can't run
the 64-bit setup from within an existing 32-bit installation. You need to
focus your efforts on getting the system to boot from the DVD. Sometimes it
helps to remove all other bootable drives in the BIOS boot options.
