"550 Connection denied after dictionary attack"

When using Outlook, I keep getting the msg "550 Connection denied after
dictionary attack". My mails don't go through.

What is the matter/how can I fix this ?

I am having the same error and the ISP said they couldnt help me. This is an
interesting issue and the bounced mail comes from the admin with no headers.
I need a resolution to this issue if there is one.

It will not come from an Outlook forum. Your ISP is the place to start your
investigation.

Milly, thank you for your advice, however, my ISP, Bulldog Communications
(in the UK) has said that it is not their problem but on my end. Your
suggestion has the two prong directive that includes enhanced Computer
security, as well as the ISP side. I have Symantex Antivirus Corporate
Edition on my machine, but if that is not sufficient, would you please
suggest another package ?

This error occurs when some user in your domain sends spam
mails. This usually spreads with files having extension .bhx. Even I am
facing the same problem for the last one month. Still I have not
identified the exact cause. It is always recommended to have latest
anti-virus on your system to protect it.
If someone knows the solution for this problem please share
it.

Harshad and Milly, thank you for your replies. It seems that the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition, fully up to date, is not up to the job. Any suggestions ? Can I block files with .bhx extensions in some way ?
