5 Printer Ports in XP Pro

I need to set up a machine with 5 printer ports. I purchased two
dual-port PCI cards (Lava D) but no matter what I do I can only get
LPT1: thru LPT3: to work. All the ports are showing up in Device
Manager and I've edited the registry to add LPT4: thru LPT9:. I can
(manually) install a printer on LPT4: but I can't get anything to
print. "This document failed to print" is all I get but it works fine
on LPT3:.

Is it possible to have five physical printer ports on an IBM PC
running Win XP Pro?

The mainboard is an MSI KN8 Neo4.

Any thoughts?

No
only 3 are supported

Thanks. After spending about 5 hours on it and calling on the help of
a local computer shop, I have to agree. We were able to get 90% there
but it never fully worked.
