5.1 speaker setup

Guys and Girls, im having trouble making win xp keep the
settings for a 5.1 speaker setup with an audigy 2 card.
Does anyone know how to get this sorted out for good?
Every time i turn my system on it reverts to 2 channel
speakers and not 5.1

any help will be great

I had this happen before when I've incorrectly connected the cables from the
speaker system to the computer.

Check those connections carefully.
