480 Authentication Required

I am trying to connect to newsgroups using my current provider, and am
receiving the following error message:
480 Authentication Required

I was able to connect in the past, and have no trouble connecting to the
Msft Newsgroups.
I have made NO changes to the settings, and have verified that they are
correct.
Is this a problem with my ISP, or with my settings?

I have solved the problem!
Evidently (unbeknownst to me!) my ISP now requires my name and password for
access!
After entering this info on the Tools/Accounts/server tab, I now have access
again.
