4000+ or 4400 Dual core?

I'm planning on having a custom system built, primarily for gaming, internet
use,and occasional CD burning.I was going to go with the 4000+ San Diego, but
now that the dual core 64's are out,I'm starting to wonder if a 4400 would
be a better long range choice.(I skipped the 4200 because for a small price
difference between the 4200 and 4400,the 4400 seemed to perform much better
in the tests I've seen).I'd like this system to last me a while before
upgrading becomes necessary, given that the 4400 seems to at least equal the
4000+ in today's games,gives better performance in non-gaming
applications, and the inevitable arrival of games that take advantage of
dual core,is it worth paying the extra money now?

Get the 4400+. Even if you are not doing any multiprocessing at the moment
dual processor systems feel much more responsive. In a dual processor
system it's much harder for a process to hog the system. Unless you are
running two compute bound applications (not likely) one processor always
available to respond to an interactive request immediately.

Hi, as for gaming per AMD, single core is the way to go right now, there are
no dual core games out there yet. Now if you are streaming video editing are
crushing numbers have at the Dual core.
