4 banks per cpu: ram limit for xp still 4gb?

I'm running two Opteron 252's on a Tyan K8WE mb that has four banks of ram
per cpu. Right now I have two gig for each CPU. Running XP32.

What I want to know is if I can up my total system RAM to 6 or 8 GB and if
it will make any difference.

I realize XP32 only addresses 2gb per application and maybe 3gb if I add the
/3GB to my boot.ini AND if the app supports >2gb. AND I hear Windows XP may
not recognize more than 4GB of system memory.

What I'm wondering is:
Since some ways of reporting RAM on my system only show the RAM available
for one of my CPUs, could I go ahead and bump up my RAM to 4GB per CPU and
Windows will actually use that RAM since it might initially be fooled into
seeing only the 4GB of one processor and not the entire 8GB?

I suspect the answer is no and I need to jump to XP64 but I'm wondering just
in case...

Thanks!
