I have a Windows XP Pro machine that is running SP1 and
all updates. When I go into the power management there
are no schemes available and I can not create a new one.
Below that it says that it is unkown and everything is
grayed out. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken.

hi Kenneth,

Is your computer ACPI-compliant? During Windows Setup, ACPI, which is
necessary for power schemes, is installed only if all components present
during Setup support power management.

Kelly has a tweak at line 204: "Restore power schemes/configurations"
