3rd party updating of web page

I am building a site for a friend who has a holiday chalet, once up-loaded
he wants to personally update the availability grid. As he has limited
technical ability any method will have to be simple and preferably not
involve him using Frontpage.

The best solution is use a server-side scripting language and a database to
allow him to maintain availability via his browser. Which language and
database depends on the OS the site is hosted under.
