I have XP, ie6 and spybot S&R. I am using all defaults on internet options.
As suspected I get notifies by spybot of certain cookies whether to down
load or not suggesting they are dangerous. Great .

The issue I am trying to fix is the constent notification of these
"cookies". ow can I block the cookie automatically without any notification
Thank you for any help

Thank you for your reply. I know I am not the smartest dog in this pack but
after reading all articals referenced twice I still can not stop the spybot
message that asks the question of whether I want to block or accept the
download.
any other suggesions ??? be nice now

I think you'll see that the message is coming from Windows/IE, not Spybot,
because of your Cookies settings in

IE Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Advanced>...

These settings are covered in the links I supplied earlier. Spybot S&D
doesn't run in the background and warn you about cookies, SF. When you run
Spybot, it may identify questionable cookies and ask if you want to delete
them.

thanks for the response, I changed settings i privacy advanced to accept
first party coolie and block 3rd party. Sure enough I still get this
dropdown box message

Spybot S&D Resident reports that you wabt to download "Doubleclick" or
"Avenue A".This is a known threat, Do you want to block the download

Yes or No

Naybe I have been "hyjacked " I run some cleaning programs.

Ah, 'Resident SD Helper' and 'Resident Teatimer' are 2 new tools in Spybot
1.3, SF! See Spybot Help>Resident for more (actually, not much) info.

You're apparently running Spybot in Advanced mode. Open Spybot and click on
Tools (left-hand pane), then click on Resident. Here you can disable or
enable both SD Helper and/or Teatimer.

Methinks you've not yet run Spybot's 'Immunize' yet, otherwise the
Doubleclick and Avenue A cookies would already be blocked by default.

<wink> It's time to RTFM, SF, and learn the ins & outs of this new version.
(This includes a good poking around in Tools!)

FWIW I've already blocked Doubleclick and Avenue A cookies via

IE Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Edit

and by setting the default for /all/ cookies to 'Prompt'. Both are also
listed in my HOSTS file.

What a difference a day makes. My spybot problem appears to have flow the
coop. No messages today.
Thanks to you I have solved myproblem although I am a tad ticked since I
don't know how it specifically got fixed.
Also I found out what RTFM means and that I need a spell checker (I already
was aware of that )any way Thanks a bunch and have a great day
