3GB of 4

Hello guys,
i have a problem with my new pc, the windows can detect only 3GB of the 4GB
memory installed in the pc, eventhough in the BIOS it detect all the 4GB
memory , i tried diferent kind of ram but still the same problem (4GB in
bios, 3GB in windows), my pc specs are:

M/B: Asus A8N-SLI
CPU: AMD FX-60 dual core 2.6
RAM: 4 GB kingstone

what do u think the problem is ?

I don't think XP 32bit can address 4Gig of ram anyway. You would need to
install the 64bit version to use all the memory in your machine. What
applications are you running that need 4Gig.??

Do a Google search on boot.ini and you will find that the switch /3GB should
be added to the boot.ini file. There are also other switches.
