3D Pinball for Windows - Space Cadet

K

Ken Miner

I'm running Windows XP and am addicted to this game. Mine keeps freezing up
on me. I can't reinstall it since none of my disks has it. Can't find it on
the net.

Does anybody know where I can get a copy of it (pinball.exe)?

TIA,

Ken

Hi Ken Miner,

You can reinstall Space Cadet pinball from your Windows XP CD..

To add/remove Windows XP Games: Click START / Control Panel /
Add or Remove Programs / Add Remove Windows Components /
Accessories and Utilities / [Details...] / Games / [Details...] / then check
(or uncheck and then recheck the game) / Click [OK] 3 times to finish.

Pinball is not on that list by default. You may need to use these steps first:

1. Choose Start / Run / Copy+Paste the next line into the RUN box and press [ENTER]:
notepad %SystemRoot%\Inf\Sysoc.inf

2. Scroll down to the line that reads: Pinball=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,pinball.inf,HIDE,7
and delete the word HIDE from the line so it now reads: Pinball=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,pinball.inf,,7

3. Click File / Exit and choose YES to save the changes you made to the file.

4. Click Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs and follow the
instructions posted in the first paragraph to reinstall Pinball now that it's on the list.

I followed the post under Jimmy S to add pinbal to my XP and it comes up
too small and when I try to make it larger I can see it but the colors
are all blotchy and I don't think I can even play it then. How do I make
it full screen and have it look like when it's in the small size and
play it as well?

Game uses sprites, and cannot be resized, you're stuck with what you get.

If you guys wanna play a better Pinball do a Google search of PinMAME or
get one of the 3 or so "ProPinball" tables

They look and play infinatly better... Well as almost as good, can't beat
the real thing.

Pinball for Win95 or Win98? No way, no such program by default.

If you want Pinball I think you need at least WinME or later OS for better performance.

If you want to copy the files, you still need a computer with Pinball. Some sites have them too.

How do I install Cadet Pinball for Windows98? I only have the 95 upgrade
CD and the 98 upgrade CD. Please help, my grandson loves this game.

If you are looking for Space Cadet 3D Pinball, jump over to :

http://rs235.rapidshare.com/files/123641405/Pinball.zip

I downloaded and am very pleased. It runs on Vista as well as it ran
on XP.

I also have a link to the URL on: http://myspace.com/dennydawg

There you can message me or e-mail me if you have trouble with the
download.

Fun game, but doesn't compare to ProPinball on PC, or Pinball FX on
XBox360. Later has a great Street Fighter Table.

For your portable needs, the PSP has the Gottlieb and Williams Collection
games which are both an excellent collection and brief history of 2
legends of pinball.

Sorry, I hear pinball and I get all nostalgic.
