hi from turkey!
there are 4 files under my system32 folder. called bek.exe, bkap.exe,
yen.exe,hbek.exe(i didn't open it)
i'm using english w2K. these files are used to restart, shutdown, or stand
by the computer.
i never heard of such files. do you know anything about it? are they trojan,
or spyware or something harmful. should i safely delete them?
appreciate for your help.

Hello,

I do not find any information on the files. If they were on my system I
would see if I could identify who wrote them by looking at properties. If
that did not provide any information, I would delete them.

thanks a lot for your help. i checked their properties. there was nothing
about their origin or description. nothing about microsoft.
the file called hbek has a linux penguin shaped icon. it's a little stange
and i think it's a clue for a "bad" program. i guess i'm gonna delete them.
if you want i can send you the file, i don't know about the security issues
but :)
anyway thanks a lot again.

I would scan the idvidual files with an up to date antivirus program and
also scan your system for spyware (I use SpybotS&D and AdAware) before
taking any other action.

i did them both with updated definitions. System was clean. I found a new
file, in its properties there was something about a company not microsoft.
deleted the files. I'll found out in the future whether they were useful or
not. Thanks again for your interest.
