2nd network disables Internet connection

My PC is connected to 2 local networks.
Network 1 is via a Linksys USB Wireless Adapter and talks to a Netgear
ADSL Router/Access Point. This connects to my laptop via wireless and
to the Internet.
Network 2 also uses wireless but through an ethernet cable to a D-Link
Access Point. This talks to other IP devices.
The 2 wireless networks have different SSIDs and the 2 networks use
fixed IP addresses in different ranges. Network 1 uses 192.168.1.*,
Network 2 uses 192.168.192.*

Everything worked fine until a couple of days ago when Microsoft
installed some security updates and restarted my computer. Since then
I can now only access the internet from my PC when I disable Network
2, although the rest of the network works fine (internet access from
laptop still works).

Can anyone help? Thanks

sounds like routing issue. posting the routing table may help, to do this, use route print command. For more and other information, go to http://howtonetworking.com.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.

Thanks for the tip.
Route print showed that the Default Gateway was set to that for
Network 2 rather than Network 1. Clearing the default gateway setting
for Network 2 resolved the problem.
That begs the question - if the Default Gateway is defined for the
computer, why does Windows allow you to set it for each network
interface?

Thanks again.
