256 colors

I was tring to install games for my kids and it keeps
telling me that to play I need 256 colors I have win. xp
and I can not find it please help

Take a look at the information on Compatibility Mode in Help and Support,
Betty. A simple right-click with your mouse on the link you use to launch
the game, selecting Properties and then going to the Compatibility tab will
allow you to adjust the number of colors. This only makes the changes when
the game is played, for that particular game, and not the entire system.

Hi Betty,

Right click the shortcut to the games that give you that
message, and select Properties, click the Compatibility
Tab, and put a check mark under "Run in 256 colors".
You *may* need to "Run this program in Compatibility
mode for:" Windows 95 or Windows 98/Me as well.

click on the icon you use to open the program. don't
click open click properties then click on compatibility &
select 256 collors
