I have installed win 2000 pro. to work as a second sys. with ME. I do not
have 256 color as a option in display settings (while in win pro). How do I
get it installed ? It does not appear to be a windows installable
situation.

There are very few reasons to have a 256 color mode. But one of them is
compatibility with very old apps. Is this your situation?

If not, let it be.

Actually it's a common requirement for web developers who want to
make sure their websites look ok in 256 color mode.

Hit F8 during boot and select VGA Mode. This will force 256 color,
but your resolutions will be limited.

Yes - programs such as Quicken 2001.

Since when?! I've used older versions of quicken and they run fine in high
or true color mode. Perhaps you have something else odd happening.
