25 character Cd key number

I have purchased a new computer and have reinstalled my Microsoft Works
program. I don't have my 25-character number. I have my certificate of
authenticity with the product Id number, but this will not allow me to access
Microsoft Word program. Is there anyway that I can get these characters?

Find the number. Or buy a new copy. Or if your old computer is still
available with an internet connection, download, install and run Belarc
Advisor. It will prepare a report with the key for the newer programs. If
your copy of Microsoft Works was installed on the original computer by the
manufacturer, forget it. The product is forever tied to the original
computer.

If you are sure that you are legally permitted to transfer the software from
one machine to another - you aren't if the software came pre-installed on
the original machine, see the KnowledgeBase article "How to Obtain a New
Product Key for Office 2000 Program Setup" at:

The number on the Certificate of Authenticity is the number you need. But,
as others have said, if this is an OEM version of Works Suite, you can't
legally use it on a new machine.
