2203 error windows xp while loading microsoft office xp

Whenever I try to reload office XP on my computer that
has windows XP (home edition) I get this error - internal
error 2203 C:\windows\installer\8ba6f.ipi - contact
microsoft ....


Any suggestions.

Two activities after which the error started -

1. Cancellation of my peoplepconline membership
2. After I downloaded visio 2002 (free download)

I do not know if it is related to these actions.

any suggestoins? guidance?
