2007 Strange Behavior

My new version of Excel is acting very strange. I will highlight a
cell to input data or a formula, but once I start typing, the focus
cell will shift 20 cells away. In other words, it won't enter the
data into the cell I selected, but it will input the data in a cell
that is down 10 cells and over 5 cells (give or take.)

It's been doing this since I got it, and I have no idea what's causing
it or how to combat it.

It's also very slow at times going from page to page, and will hang up
frequently. 2000 was slow to open, especially if I had a lot of data
on a page, but once it was up and going it would go from page to page
very quickly.
 
One other thing I forgot to mention. I'll be typing data into a cell,
but nothing shows up until I finish and hit enter, and then the data
will be there. But there won't be any data as I'm typing. It doesn't
do this all the time. The data will show up in the formula bar, but
not in the cell.
 
Just guessing but this seems more like a video issue than an Excel issue.
Excel 2007 does seem to be more demanding of video performance although
you'd never expect what you're seeing. You might see if your video board
manufacturer has a newer driver. You might also try playing with your
settings. Maybe changing the DPI setting or refresh rate or screen
resolution...

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm running into the same problem
where nothing I type shows up until I hit enter. I'm using a workbook
at work that I've taken over from a previous employee. All rows up to
a certain number work just fine when I enter data (I can see my typing
before hitting enter). But after a certain row everything I type
doesn't show up until I hit enter. WEIRD!
