2003 terminal server licences on 2000 AD domain which hosts 2000 licence server ?

Hi,

I have a 2000 AD domain and have added a 2003 member server to support pptp
and terminal services. My 2000 server has a licence server but i don't think
it can support licences for 2003 terminal services (i.e 2003 moans that no
licence server available)

1. can my 2000 server support licences for 2003 terminal services (i.e non
admin users) ?

2. if not , can i install a licence server on my 2003 member server and
leave the 2000 licences server as it is ?

Thanks for any advice.

No, it cannot.

Yes. Setup the Win2000 terminal servers to use the existing Win2000
domain as their preferred licensing server, and the Win2003 servers to
use the member server. See:

Win2000 Terminal Services
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q239107/

Win2003 Terminal Services
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...elp/46844a6e-386f-4ce3-98e5-d5377b5d6ba9.mspx

Also, once you upgrade your domain, consider migrating your existing
Win2000 licenses to the Win2003 server. It should support them.

Hope that helps,
