I have Office 2003. Normally, when I use Outlook, to open an email all I
have to do is click on it and it opens up. What is happening right now
though, and I do not know why, is that clicking on the email selects it but
does not open it. When I double click on the email, I get a smallish sqarish
popup with

File Edit View Insert
Format Tools Actions
Help
Reply to All X
E-mail Auto-Link

appearing.

Why is this happening and how can I stop it from happening so that clicking
on my emails will open them again?

grab the lower right corner with your mouse and stretch it out, or click the
box in the upper right corner (the maximize button)

Thank you to dlw. Initially, when I read your response, I thought that you
had totally misunderstood my problem. However, you were right! And I thank
you!

My daughter tells me that my husband was on my computer looking at my emails
last night when I was out (being nosy?). Apparently, he must have, for some
reason, used the restore down button and this caused all files being opened
to open in restore down mode. As I have never done that, I did not recognize
it. After I had experienced troubles with email, it turned out that I could
not even open up Microsoft Word documents from Microsoft Word without their
coming up in the same type of 'mini-mode'... which I did not recognize as
being restore down.

Anyway, the open command really is working. Do I feel dumb?!! Yes,
actually, in this case, I do. This is not really as bad as not having the
computer turned or something like that - but not realizing that a window had
been restored down, well, yes, that certainly is not smart. Thank you very
much!
