Hi Group,

Hope somebody could help me?

I have a Windows 2000 Server for Backup. This machine has to NICs in one on
a IP range of 192.168.2.xxx and the other on a subnet of 92.1.1.xxx.
Our Local LAN subnet is 192.168.2.xxx and the server use`s this to backup
some of the machines on our network. It also connects to 5 of our NT4
servers, using the 92.1.1.xxx network.
All the servers have a 192.168.2.0 Network Card in, and a 92.1.1.xxx Network
card(Which is just for Backup).

However when i boot the machine up I get a error telling me there is a
Duplicate Name on the Network.

How do I get around this?

Many thanks
Regards
Merlin

Merlin,

Have you tried the nbtstat -n command. This will display
the names that have been registered locally and the
status column of the output will show conflicts.

Is it possible that you have incorrect static mappings in
the WINS database.

Nick
