2000 server NT clients

How do get the GPO to work with NT clients. I also have
xp clients and they are working fine.
 
NT won't understand GPOs, you need Win2K clients or newer. But you can
migrate some of the settings in NT System Policies to GPOs with gpolmig.exe
from the Resource Kit.

Migrates settings from Windows NT 4.0 policy files to the Windows 2000 Group
Policy object structure. The location of the registry settings
that implements software policy has changed in Windows 2000 and therefore
the migration might not have an effect on some applications and components.

Thank you for your reply. How can I lock down a nt client
with 2000 server.
 
You have to use System Policies with poledit.exe as you did in NT4.0 its the
same process for Pre-Windows2000 Computers.
 
You need to use System Policies (ntconfig.pol). These are stored in the
netlogon share and will affect NT clients.
