2000 item limit in Outlook 2003?

Has anyone ever received this error message?

I have Outlook 2003 at work that I synch to a Dell Axim. I recently
bought a new home computer with Microsoft Office 2003. I went to sync
the work calendar to the home Outlook 2003 with the Axim and I get
the following error message as it attempts to load the complete
calendar:

Error in Calendar
You have exceeded your 2000 item limit in Calendar. Delete some items
and attempt synchronization again.

Now, this error does not show up at work Outlook 2003 calendar or on
my Axim. Why would it show up at home?

I did a search and cannot find any reference to the 2000 limit in
Microsoft or the Internet.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Greg

did you upgrade from an older version at home? did you sync at home before?
if not, are you connecting as a guest at home?

Thank you for your response.

1. No, it is a new version of Office/Outlook 2003 which came pre
installed on the new computer.
2. I did not sync from home before.
3. I am not connected as a guest...but as a Pocket PC user.

Did this question one stump everyone? I cannot find the answer in
Microsoft, forums or anywhere.

Perhaps you are the first person to have the problem? Perhaps you should
ask your employer if they have set limits?

Hi Milly:

thanks for your reply. Please remember...there is no limit on my work
Outlook 2003 or my Pocket PC...the limit only comes on (my brand new
version) of Outlook 2003 on my home PC.

Random idea: Could it be that your Axim and work PC don't contain past
appts, but you are trying to download those on your home PC? I know that
for syncing a PocketPC, you need to tell it how many weeks of past appts
(or all) to sync to the device. Maybe there is something similar going
on with your Outlook at work and you haven't set the Outlook at home to
the same setting?
