2000 Developer Update??????

Hi,

I have an Access 2000 db that I have been trying to package without RunTime
using Office 2000 Developer. I've been working on this for about 3 weeks now
and can't resolve the problem. Is there an update for Office 2000 Developer?
I currently have 6.00.8433. If there is an update how do I download it?
I've looked all over Microsoft.com and can't seem to locate anything.

Packaging with Runtime works great, but I need to do both. I've posted my
problem on different newsgroups but have not received a response that helped.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

The simplest way to resolve this...

1. Copy the folder containing your package to another folder named Without
RT
2. In the Without RT folder, open setup.lst using Notepad
3. Under the section named Runtime, change Include=-1 to Include=0
4. Delete the subfolder in Without RT named Runtime...it is no longer
needed.

For the future, you may want to consider a different packaging tool. All of
the Microsoft ones are notorious for having problems like you described.

HI again Paul,

I don't know if you will get this, but here goes.

I did as you stated and everything seemed ok, but today I tried to run my
setup.exe (without run-time) on a machine with Access 2002 and it installed 7
files and then I got a message that the install "requires Access" and that it
could not continue with the install. It then did an uninstall of the files
loaded. Do you have any idea why or how to resolve this problem? You stated
that maybe I should use a different package program. Can you suggest one
that dosen't cost an arm and a leg?

Thanks,
