2000 DC/GC to 2003 DC/GC with New Hardware

Hi All,

I'm sure you guys these questions over and over .... sorry in advance


I have 2 DC/GC with w2k I want to replace them with 2 DC/GC with w2k3.

1-Do I do inplace upgrade? I dont perfer it.
2-Make the new hardware with 2003 as member servers and raise their
funtional level and transfer the FSMO
3-You guys who have real world exp/tips to make this type of change
happen

no need to upgrade. you can also add new and remove old

to introduce new w2k3 dcs you mus update the schema (forestprep) and the
domain (domainprep and gprep)(assuming the w2k3 server are sp1)
if you have exchange in the w2k forest you need to fix it first.
