Sources tell us that an anonymous donor will be giving $200,000 US to the person that can sucessfully port Linux to the Xbox, legally, of course.
The project is divided into two sections, with cash prizes awarded for work in each category. The first, carrying a prize of $100,000, is to port Linux to a modified XBox. The second, also carrying a $100,000 prize, challenges competitors to hack into XBox without any hardware modifications.
The XBox Linux Project, who is organizing the contest and project, claim they know the identity of the donor.
