2 Windows XP operating system

My brother wanted to change my system from Windows 2000 professional to
Windows XP.He did it,but some problem was coming up.He tried to retrieve
2000,but in vain.So he loaded windows XP again and now my pc works.But when
it starts it shows 2 windows Xp operating system (it shows highlightd OS will
start in ---- seconds.How do i get rid of it? Pls help.It is so irriatating
to see it since both are same OS.
