Set up a home office network. Main computer, the one with printers, cannot
access other two computers. Error message: Mshome is not accessible. You
might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator.......

The other two computers can see each other. When I try to use one of those
two other computers to access the third computer with the printers, I get the
error message: (Third Computer) is not accessible. You may not have
permission to access this network resource..........

The other computers can see that this computer exists by name, just can't
access it and vice versa.

Have used the wizard to set up home network repeatedly to no avail.

Help will be appreciated.

Peter,

The complete and exact error message might give additional insight.

You should probably look for a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any
might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

Or look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net
config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this
article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
browstat!):

Robert,

All three computers use the mshome workgroup name. Is that what you mean? I
turned off the firewall on all computers. This computer did access the other
two and vice versa. Since then I have installed Microsoft OneCare and an
NVidia graphics card.

Thanks,

Peter

I just ran into this problem and after looking at links from your replies I
found the solution. I went to the computer that did not allow access and
adjusted its McAfee firewall settings to a lower level. This immediately
allowed me in to his computer.
Good Luck,
Robert

I took all of my anti virus off the machine and I am running Microsoft
OneCare. Do you think that could be doing it?

Thanks,

Peter
