I have a PC with 2 on-board NIC's. Running Win XP SP2 w/ TCPIP. One
will be for Internet Access and the other will be for the Local Network
with 4 other PC's connecting to it. I have tried :
A. One NIC DHCP (WAN Side from an NT Server Box) and One NIC static (LAN
Side)
B. Both NIC's Static
C. Disabling One NIC and putting 2 static IP's on it
The IP Scheme for the LAN is 192.168.1.X & 255.255.255.0
The DHCP Server also assigns IP's in the Range 192.168.1.X (There is no
duplication of IP's I checked that
My issue is this: I can only get
the WAN or the LAN to work but not the other (If I disable the LAN I can
access the 'Net - If I disable the WAN then I can access the LAN - but
never both)
This system is going into a retail outlet with the WAN used for Credit
card authorization and the LAN used to access the SQL Database. So I
have to have both - any brilliant minds out there willing to give it a go ??
TIA,
