2 msn messenger accounts in system

I have 2 msn icons on the right hand bottom bar. 1 is 7.0 and 1 is 4.7
version. I just got a new computer and 1 was already on it. I want tot get
rid of the 4.7 version so I can uograde to 7.5..
 
Hi JGirl,

You do not want to get rid of Windows Messenger x.x because other programs
need it to run. You can prevent it from loading at startup by doing the
following.

Goto Start/Run -type in msmsgs click OK. Click on Tools/Options. On the
Preferences tab, remove the checks for "Run Windows Messenger when Windows
start" and "Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background". You will only
see one Messenger icon in the systemtray now when you re-start.

Go ahead and upgrade to 7.5...Enjoy!

Yeah when I start my computer it automatically signs me into the 7.0 version.
I still can't get 7.5 to work but 7.oo's ood enough anyway. Thanks for your

What trouble(s) are you having with version 7.5? Maybe if you could give
some detail, someone cah help.

You sure there both MSN Messanger, and that one isnt Windows
Messanger?
 
Hi Sparda,

Not to speak for "JGirl", but I'm sure one was Windows Messenger and the
other was MSN Messenger.
