2 Machines/2 Failures

I'm trying to install on machine #3 now.

But the first is an FIC AU31 Motherboard and AMD Athlon 3000+ with Nvidia
GeForce 4 Chipset. 128MB Video. 2GB RAM and 160GB Segate Drive. Setup stalled
for an hour and finished with failure to find drivers for nvidia_4 display.

Second is a Biostar VIG400Pro and AMD Athlon 2400+ with Via Chipset. 64MB
Video. 1 GB Ram and 80G Western Digital Drive. Setup failed with a Stop error
on first reboot, 0x7b.

Ran the Upgrade Advisor on both of these machines and both had the green
light to go ahead and install.

This 3rd try is an MSI KMv4 and AMD Athlon 1600+with Via Chipset, 512 RAM,
64 MB Video and also a Western Digital 80GB. I'm doing a separate partition
for this one.

try reburning the ISO at a low speed, 2x recommended, also do a CRC check on
the ISO to find out its integrity. Nero MD5 Verifier is a recommended
choice. If setup still fails, its likely a bad download.

downloaded:

Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want
check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive
and open it and it will automatically start the varification process and
generate the has in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are
safe.

Thanks for your reply Andre - I did the burn at 2x in Nero Ultra Edition and
I checked the box that says "Verify Data upon completion" - is that the MD5
Verifier? I also verified with ISO Buster 1.9 Pro that there were no errors
in the files before I burned it.

I'm not worried, I also ordered the DVD - it's coming in the mail, so I'll
try again with that once it arrives.

Andre - I checked it with the verifier like you suggested and it was good, so
I tried the virtual drive program and used that to run the iso image from the
backup drive that was on the first machine mentioned ( the other 2 machines
also failed to install).

The install was a success this time but I immediately lost connectivity to
the internet. The system said I had Ultimate and the performance rating was
#1. I had no success trying to configure the settings for the internet,
getting system hangs. I tried safe mode, but everyting I tried to open to
look at the connection would hang. I was able to open event viewer opened and
there were 808 critical errors, system errors and windows errors. The biggest
problem was that none of the tools would open to try to correct the
connection, although the device manager did show the network card, a good
driver for it installed and that it was working correctly. Since I couldn't
activate the sysem without internet, I'm reverting back to my original system
with a ghost image.

I tried to put my XP Pro back with Norton Ghost and it failed. Vista would
not go away! So I wrote zeros to the drive, then the Norton Ghost image back
