2 invoices with same # auto linked need formula?

I am trying to invoices in word that will have an embedded invoice number on
2 seperate invices that I need to link. Is this possible and if so how do I
do it.

Are your invoices wholly in Microsoft Word? or are you using Microsoft
Access (the subject of this newsgroup) to link to Word? What do you
mean by "embedded"?

More background please!
