After repairing XP Pro I have 2 Up Professional Installations to choose from
but only one in viable. How can I remove the one that is not viable? Thanks
in advance...

Greetings --

1) Click Start > Run, Type "Cmd" and then press <Enter>.

2) Type "Cd\" and then press <Enter>

3) Type "Attrib C:\Boot.ini -h -r -s" and then press <Enter>

4) Click Start > Run, Type "Notepad c:\boot.ini" and then press
<Enter>

5) Edit the file as desired, save it, and then exit Notepad.

6) Type "Attrib C:\Boot.ini +h +r +s" and then press <Enter>

7) Close the command console.

Graphically:

From within WinXP, Start > Run > Msconfig, Boot.ini Tab > Check all
Boot Paths.

To remove one of the listings, you will have to edit the boot.ini file, in
which case you will need to know which listing is the one that works (or
maybe they both do). Either way, you can either look in C:\ for the
boot.ini file and edit it in notepad (the file is probably hidden) or you
can right click My Computer -> Properties -> Start Up and Recovery -> and
click the "Edit" button next to "To edit the startup option file manually."

Start - Run - MSconfig.exe On its BOOT.INI page click 'Check All Paths'
It should detect a non-viable one and allow you to delete it.

Or in the Control Panel - System - Advanced page click Settings, next
page click Edit and it loads the boot.ini to Notepad, where you can
delete the unwanted line in [boot loader] and in [operating systems]
