2 Forms and 2 tables

there are 2 forms (main & sub)

when i make a new record in main form,

the new record is not yet saved / created in table

then i click the sub form button (by macro - openform) for creating
sub-record of this new record.

but there is error cos the new record (main form) has not been created and
so the sub record cannot be created too.

how should i do?

i do not find save macro command so that i can save the main form record
before creating subform record.

Thanks a lot.

Tony,

The macro Action to save the record is RunCommand/SaveRecord.

But I would normally expect that the newly entered record on the main
form would automatically be saved when you move the focus to the second
form... that's how Access works. I am wondering whether that is really
the problem here. What is the error message you receive?

hi Steve

in the beginning, i also think it is not real problem

but i leave the record and back to the record again in the main form, the
sub-form record can be created without any problem

the tables are stored in SQL2k server.

thanks a lot.

i will try the runcommand first.
