2 Excel spreadsheets open at once

Problem: When I open up an Excel 2002 document 2 separate
spreadsheets open up at the same time. book1 and the
document. How can I just get the document to open.
 
When Excel starts any files in the XLSTART folder(s) also open. Check there
for a "Book1".
