2 A5's on A4

I wish to create A5 portrait documents, printed to an A4 sheet in landscape
(2 per sheet, side by side).

How do I do this in Word?

G'Day Enquirer,

Basically you do exactly as YOU describe.

New Document
Paper A4
Orientation Landscape

Create a table with two columns, and one row. Place the Insertion
Point within the table and:
Format>Borders and Shading
Select None
- the table may still be seen (light grey) while editing, but the Lines
will not print.

Place a 'page' (A5) of text in each cell.
Fiddle with the paper (A4) margins, and the Table margins to suit!

IF the page (A5) on the right, follows on from the page (A5) on the
left, you can use two Columns instead of a Table.

FINALLY, search for Help on "Booklet" - that may give you some
more Ideas. If booklets fit the bill, have a look at Microsoft Publisher
which comes with some versions of Office.

If you have Word 2000 or above, use the "2 pages per sheet" option in Page
Setup (not the one in the Print dialog). This will give you two logical
pages per physical page. They can be handled in every way just like single
pages but will print two to a sheet.

in addition to the other suggestions, you might want to check out
"FinePrint" which I have used with great success.

It's a printer driver rather than an add-in to word, so it works with all
applications. It can even print double-sided booklets on a single-sided
printer (so one sheet might contain pages 3 and 57 on the front, and 4 and
58 on the back)
