Ok, it's my 1st attempt at creating my own PC. I've put together a list of
the main components i think will work well.

I would go for a bigger hard drive as some modern games are getting quite
big now,
UT2004 = 6.3GB with bonus packs
FarCry = 3GB
Doom 3 = 1.5GB

The cost of a 120GB WD drive is only £10 more and a 160GB is only £20 more.

That looks pretty good. I hope you remembered to factor in the cost of a
case and quality ~450W power supply. -Dave

I've always gone Intel, so I can't comment on the CPU/mobo choice. However,
I would consider using a 36 or 74gb WD Raptor SATA drive for C:, then buy an
inexpensive second drive for D: if you need more space. These are fast
drives and would make a difference in your system's performance, although
they may put you over your budget. The 36gb costs about US$110 and the 74gb
$175 here in the States.

One GB of RAM may be overkill and you may be able to make do with 512mb
unless you'll be doing photo or video work.
